Girls day out with mama & Fara. Yours truly (who has a car but too scared to drive) took a Metrobus from home to Jalan TAR with Aresha. She's one not fussy little girl who rides the bus behaving really well, no complaints at all. I guess it's how you teach her intentionally or not. We were relying on public transportation since she's born and if we're living in big cities in Europe or maybe anywhere else but here (where trains, buses are always on time) we might not be having car(s) at all.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention tht we didn't sell our Swift, kept for long distance roadtrip. And from no car at all to having 2 cars.. vintage and new. Dear's latest projekt his '61 Beetle is now in Sg Petani having major inside out customization complete with 1.6 engine and gearbox and tht old school green paint.

Ok, where was I just now? Shopping with mama was so much fun. We persuaded her for a complete makeover, she'll be wearing long skirts now, lol! Fara bought her first mobile Nokia 5300 with her own money( so proud of her, unlike me she worked while waiting for SPM result and went to PLKN in Papar, 3 months, come back with tan and extra 5kgs) We went crazy over really cheap 'bunga tabur' India songket, 4 metres for RM50, apparently everything were on sale after the KL flood last Sunday.

We're supposed to watch a movie together but Fara and mama decided to head home as they're tired from walking and shopping, so I brought Aresha to the park and she had a fabulous time there, playing on her own. She's really brave and very sociable, she could play just with anybody(read I have to put a really close eye on her) She tried on a really cute hat @ Mothercare but it was really pricey that I decided not to buy. Why didn't I take a picture of tht? Kecik came and we sat at the foodcourt while Aresha munching cheeseburger and mesmerized with the spinning gasing tht comes with her Happy Meal. She just adores her uncle Kecik and suddenly becomes a bit shy at first but quickly attached to him afterwards. She had so much fun and wore herself out, the minute I put her in her buggy she dozed off instantly.

It was absolutely long day for me as dear picked us up and went to Epa's (the part-time Vespa mechanic)to send chrome stuffs to put on his refurbished '62 VBB.
Ended the night with a late dinner @ nearby stall and we slept while watching Pet sematary 1 & 2 back to back. Heck, Aresha can sing along to Ramones "I don't wanna be buried in a pet sematary" !!

Wht Aresha did last weekend

A mandi sungai trip turned out to be a fun day with the cousins for Aresha and us too! We had luch @ Mak Utih's stall at Kalumpang followed by 'kebun' trip with the cousins cum Oare's trying out some stunts on the hills with her new XR150. (Dear sold it to her 5 months ago) Aresha was beaming from ear to ear cause she gets to play with Adam, Imran, Iwan and her idol Kak Ola! She simply idolize the black eyeliner, new spunky bobbed hairdo Ola who looks so mature beyond her 13 years of age. She didn't care to hold on to mommy's hands instead she ran up and down the hills, bushes,face & body bitten by mosquitoes holding on to the cool sis , sometimes the cute little Adam.
We went to Kalumpang river sans the adorable kak Wati's kids since they'r preparing for pak Utih's 70th birthday. The water was freezing cold and Aresha shivered after only 30 mins. Back @ Mak Utih's huge, but very homely home, Aresha just can't stop running around chasing the boys till they actually hide from her. where did she get such energy?

Despite being so unlucky when it comes to lucky draw, I must say Streething 3rd swapmeet came a loooooong way from the inaugural (or was it the unofficial?)
I remember us, being the only Malay who came tht day when everybody's already know each other and we just boldly decided to attend, and it turned out tht these guys Kzzit, Headhunter, Urawa, Bunga, Tansri are really cool peeps. Kzzit especially loves squirtgun's design so much tht dear's officially Streething's(then streetlab) designer and badboymini's gonna display a wall of his famous 'tauge' in his new streetwear shop this September.
Streething also plays a huge role in promoting squirtgun's name in the local scene. So, business and passion all in one, what more can we ask?

Post weaning

Can't believe it's already the weekend (to me Friday is considered as weekend)
I haven't even uploaded the pix from last Saturdays white & denim dinner party.
That aside, it's been three successful days and nights weaning Aresha off bfing.
The 2nd night was easier than we thought but last night after 2 bottles of vanilla milk she refused to sleep. 6am, she woke up crying, she's actually hungry!
Ok, sometimes mommy's don't really understand their babies, this is where daddy plays his role. He always knew when his girl is hungry. They went down, daddy cook noodle soup and voila! She's smiling and enjoying every slurp.

Maybe I'm just too exhausted/blind to see her signals. I'm with her 24/7..if you don't tell me baby, I just can't figure it out.

I miss having her so close to me before she sleeps. Last night she pretended tht she don't understand and wanted to bf as usual. I can't help but feel bad tht she has to stop. She's so smart tht she said, " Hug, mommy?"
She hugged me real tight. Oh, why must you grow so fast?

Bfing no more

Last night was really heartbreaking for both of us. The sound of Aresha crying, begging for me to bfeed her was unbearable to ignore. I was on cold pill (err not being cold to her but pills tht relieves runny nose)It makes me so sleepy that I actually slept while she's crying for mommy's milk :( She cried

"Mommyyyyy, Mommyyyyy"
" Mommmmyyyy tutu pleaseeeee,"

I know it's hard for her to go on cold turkey. She's been bfing for 30 months! She can't sleep soundly when I'm not around. Maybe she's been so used to hearing mommy's heartbeat since she was born(or was it since in the womb?)The sweet smell of attachment and security. Knowing tht mommy's right beside her. I know for a fact tht there isn't much left. Dear was being really helpful and supportive of weaning her completely from bfing. He was the one comforting Aresha, accompanying her till she fell asleep, substituting lait de moi
with formula or water. It was really kind of him to actually let me get a good sleep though he badly need a rest. Well,he never failed to surprise me each day. Last Sunday he let me take a break (literally, I wasn't allowed to go to the kitchen)
He made us brunch of his specialty Grilled Chicken Sandwich, while I just sit back enjoying Nad's Grey's Anatomy Season 3 DVDs.

I'm still struggling to avoid her from bfing. Daytime = hard work to divert her needs. The best I could do is to offer her juice or food. Being 2 1/2 year old she already know how to get it herself. Without me noticing she'd lift up my tee but I quickly tell her no, reassuring tht she don't need it anymore. She cries everytime, I'd just give in but it has to stop or I'll have a toddler dangling, clinging on me forever! YMing with dear just now and he told me to be strong. Aresha, my precious little girl, please understand tht no doesn't mean tht I don't love you. I know you can get through this. This is only the beginning..

Random thoughts

The best time to blog is in the middle of the night when Aresha's sleeping or like at this particular time, she's watching Biker Build-off with daddy dearest.
It's funny how when daddy's going to work yesterday, the sound of the engine rumbles woke her up smiling, "Daddy work?" I nodded and she seems to fall back to her sleep at that very second.

It never failed to amuse me or just brighten up the day to see her tiny little pout , smiling in her sleep. This is what keeps me going every single day. I would be lying if I say that I never got tired of taking care of her. In fact I get exhausted every other day. YMIng hassle free during the day is strictly from 2-3pm. Before or after that I have to put up with Aresha swinging from left to right lap, running downstairs to get her juice/coco crunch/cookies etc, and as vain as it might sound, she persuades me to open her picture folders or yours truly A life less ordinary. That aside,I'm learning to be more patience, paying attention to little things and watching Strawberry Shortcake from her!

Oh dear, I got plenty to write while taking a shower just now, and to see my baby's still awake at this time means that I have to keep it till tomorrow. Till then.. nite-nite!

Lounging with Laila

Aresha and I had a fab time with Nadia last nite. We went from eating at a banana leaf restaurant to pasar malam to Hartamas to watch Laila's Lounge in action.
I just love these super-friendly, highly talented, much deserving exposure guys hailing from JB.

a question from Bai who has this crazy thought tht dearie's name was the aforementioned. I laughed so hard with the company of Tepet, Nad & Ogy too.

A wonderful nite indeed, tho it will be more fun if dear's around :)

Thanks to Nad for making it all happened. I wish I could see more of Laila in the future. Love 'em!

Pirates

We'll be watching At world's End- the final trilogy of the Pirates of the Caribbean this evening along with dear's colleague- Well it's their company outing I just tag along, with Aresha. ( she calls it skulls)

She was really behaving well when we took her to watch Spidey. The whole 2 hrs just sitting calmly provided tht she has ample of popcorn and soda supply :) Only the last few minutes she got tired of watching Spidey and Venom in action and took my hand "Jom!"

We'll see if Davy Jones,Jack Sparrow and ehmm..Will Turner could do the same trick ;)


Aresha all clingy to daddy

I heart Cuisinart!

I'm obsessed with everything made from scratch. Be it bread, cakes,cookies and dishes tht screams HOMEMADE! Would really love to get my hands on this baby so tht I'll be able to make bread loaf wherever,whenever!
Well, b'day is just 3 months away...*hint*

Cookie in the making

I've just finished my 2nd order for the week. Another 240 pcs of yummy choc chip cookies. So far, there are two choices... double chocolate choc chip or just choc chip, walnut cookies. Made butterscotch sauce yesterday but still experimenting the amount of sauce and extra flour to put in the dough. Aresha seems to enjoy mommy's freshly baked cookies.

Meanwhile, dear's also excited designing my logo, definitely spoilt for choices, they're all magnificent!

So, which one should I choose?
